Philosophy
The
following beliefs summarize the educational attitudes of the Center of In
dependent Learning, Inc.:

Parents
are the primary educators of their children.
They are basic role models for all learning. The role of
teachers is to support parents and students in the educational
process.

Learning
takes place at different rates for each person.

People
have individual learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses.

Learning
needs to be relevant to everyday living.

learn when they are part of a loving, accepting, and challenging
environment that does not put limitations on learning.

takes place when there is no fear of failing or succeeding

is an adventurous, continuous process and journey.
Program
Goals and Objectives

Parents,
students, and teachers work together to set appropriate goals for each
child.

Students
are able to enjoy the process of learning as they develop intellectual
skills and creativity. Students
have the opportunity to develop personal growth and interpersonal
skills in small groups.

Students
learn to accept responsibility for their own actions.

Students
attain self-confidence by experiencing success.

Students
become independent learners who are able to co-operate with others to
achieve common goals.
Center of
Independent Learning, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation
under the laws of Massachusetts. Students and staff of all
races, colors, religions, and ethnic origins are encouraged to
participate.
